Prologis’ commitment to sustainable development includes using renewable energy, installing energy-saving LEDs and…bees.
In May 2015, in a first for both Prologis and the logistics facilities sector, facilities in three locations near Paris—in Moissy 1 Chanteloup, Gonesse and Evry—began maintaining beehives in their green spaces. A fourth, Moissy 2 Les Chevrons, added beehives in May 2016.
Because bees contribute to more than 80 percent of the reproduction of flowering plants and crops in the world, they play a vital role in building healthy ecosystems. By taking part in the protection and preservation of bees, Prologis acts to improve the environment on a local level.
The harvests in July yielded about 600 jars of honey, which were given to employees and customers.
